The Origins of Halloween Traditions

Halloween is a celebration observed in many parts of the world celebrated on the 31st October. It is widely believed that many Halloween traditions originated with the ancient Celt harvest festivals with pagan roots. However others believe it began as a christian holiday. Separate from gaelic festivals like samhain.

Halloween traditions include, apple bobbing, bonfires, trick or treating, costumes, playing pranks, visiting haunting attractions and horror films. In many parts around the world the christian religion visit churches and light candles on the graves of the dead remain popular. Elsewhere it is more of a commercial celebration.

Food Traditions with Halloween

There are a number of foods associated with Halloween but our opinion chocolate is best! Historically the toffee apple was a popular treat for trick-or-treating children.
